Difficult Passages:
Does God remember sin, even when it has been forgiven (9:27; Exo. 34:6-7;
Jer. 31:34)? Did the Old Testament sacrifices take away sin (10:11; Num.
15:24-28)? Has any man (Elijah or Enoch) been translated to heaven (11:5;
Gen. 5:24; 2 Kin. 2:11; John 3:13)? Will all persons come into judgment
(9:27; John 5:24 ASV, NKJV)? Explain the discrepancy some see between the
following passages: Hebrews 9:27 and John 8:51. What is the significance of
the plural “sacrifices” in referring to Christ’s redemptive sacrifice as
found in Hebrews 9:23? Is it a contradiction to the “once” sacrifice as
stressed throughout the book in relation to Christ? |

Answering False Doctrines:
Is God only a “loving” God (10:31; 12:29; Rom. 11:22)? Is attendance to the
worship of God a necessity (10:25)? Are Christians required to attend other
spiritual activities if directed by the elders (10:25; 13:17)? Is Hebrews
4:3 referring to the sabbatical rest? Is the Sabbath law still binding
(4:9)? |

Difficult Passages:
What are “these last days” (KJV) / “end of these days” (ASV) (1:2)? Did
Abraham have only one son (11:17; Gen. 16:15; 21:1-3; Gal. 4:22)? What was
in the ark of the covenant (9:4; 1 Kin. 8:9)? Does “all” marriages include
adulterous and homosexual marriages (13:4)? Reconcile Hebrews 12:1 with
Ecclesiastes 9:5-6. |

Answering False Doctrines:
Is the Bible a “living” document that changes with time (13:8)? Are the
Scriptures the all-sufficient authority in religion? How is the silence of
the Scriptures authoritative (1:5; 7:14)? Should we today hold to
“pattern” following (8:5)? Does Hebrews 8:13 support the A.D. 70 doctrine? |

Difficult Passages:
Do Christians have guardian angels (1:14)? Does the fact that Christ was
made “a little lower than the angels” indicate that He was only a created
being (2:9)? Does Hebrews 13:2 teach that angels are still coming forth to
visit man as sent by God? How were the worlds framed (1:2, 10; 11:3)? What
does the expression “world to come” in Hebrews 2:5 refer to? Who is the
subject of Hebrews 2:7—Is it Christ or man? |

Answering False Doctrines:
Can we be saved by faith alone (4:3; 12)? Is faith accomplished without
evidence? Is there more than one baptism (6:2)? Does Hebrews indicate that
baptism may be accomplished by sprinkling (9:21; 10:22)? Is “grace alone”
a valid doctrine (12:16-17)? |

Difficult Passages:
Was the Law perfect or not (8:6-8; Psalm 19:7)? Did Christ come to abolish
the law (7:18-19; Eph. 2:13-15; Mat. 5:17-19; Luke 16:17)? What are the
“first principles” (5:12)? What does “the principles of the doctrine of
Christ” refer to (6:1-3)? Is it impossible to renew a Christian that falls
away (6:4-6)? What is the significance of the phrase, “until the time of
the reformation” in Hebrews 9:10? |
