Reverence in Worship (Behavior
and Dress)
- God expects reverence toward Him in the lives of His followers. (Mal. 1:6,
Heb. 12:28-29)
- There should be a special reverence when His followers assemble to offer
acts of worship. (Ps. 89:7-8, I Pet. 2:5, I Chr. 16:29, Ps. 96:9)
- That reverence can be disrupted if unnecessary activities in the pews
distract our thoughts. (I Cor. 11:29)
- That reverence can be diluted by inappropriate dress. (in I Tim. 2:9
"shamefacedness" is "reverence").
